It is important
for a documentary to capture the human element. A strong documentary presents the ideas, culture, and emotions of a true story by showing the people involved. I’ve interviewed participants, eyewitnesses, and officials. I’ve taken a subject back to the scene of interest. I've used precise edits to convey emotion. As a result, I believe viewers are able to find the human element within these two documentaries.
Behind the Scenes of Election Connection 2013 was the final assignment for my post-production class at WCSU. All the footage was captured by another student the previous year and it was my job to edit the B-roll and on-camera interviews into a cohesive documentary about the university’s 2013 election media coverage.
The History of Pleasure Beach is the product of an assignment I received in my Television Production 3 course at Norwalk Community College. I was tasked with producing a four-minute mini documentary about a subject of my choice. I chose to cover Pleasure Beach and Long Beach West, a former vacation spot in Stratford, CT which became a ghost town when it was abandoned due to a bridge fire in 1996.
